adam & janelle’s wedding photos // guemes island resort, washington
We all know that I have a major soft spot for camping weddings, and especially weddings at the most amazing Guemes Island Resort… and especially when it’s for two people that I already know & love! Adam is Michael’s cousin, and he married the most incredible, fun, and beautiful Janelle, and it was truly a family affair for us because our families stayed on the island for several days of long overdue quality time. And a wedding! So fun!
Here are a few photos that I took that day. I know that I’m emotionally attached to these two, but even I was surprised to witness what was probably the most hilarious & heartfelt wedding vows I may have ever seen! Adam & Janelle were like a comedy act, weaving in and out of each other’s jokes with ease, and basically giving us Marriage 101 on how to start a really good life together… full of love, and full of laughter.
I’m just going to do a little side note, because I love it when couples do something a little left of the norm for their weddings, and I thought that Adam & Janelle really thought outside of the box on this one and it really worked! As soon as they were in front of everyone, at the very start of their ceremony, Adam’s mom and Janelle’s dad each gave heartfelt toasts to their respective children and to everyone, so that immediately upon being together everyone was toasting to the couple and to the friends they had amassed and to the life that they had already built together, and to their future. It was really amazing… and from there, the ceremony itself and the vows were almost like a formal set of cheers’ing and toasts, or I guess you could look at it as an informal way to have a wedding ceremony full of celebration and well-wishing, and good ol’ fashion drinking!
Happy First Anniversary to Adam & Janelle! You guys are the so dang awesome together, and I’m so thankful that I actually get the privilege of living the rest of this life with you two, too! haha… lucky us! Love you!
