“I sustain myself with the love of family.”
-Maya Angelou
I can’t wait to see these guys for our next photo session in just a few weeks… in the meantime, I’ll share these images that I’ve spent all this time hiding from you, from when I spent a very blustery, dark and cold morning with them last autumn. Because of how that day felt to me, when I see these photos I feel a deep desire to get cozy, and to snuggle up with the people I love. And I type this as we experience our first week of a true change of seasons between summer and fall, so the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
Also, so often I come away from my sessions with a sense of what makes each family unique or what is the binding force behind each family… sometimes it’s their humor or their togetherness, and with this family it was a real sense of peace that was coming straight from mama. I could tell in their home that she is the calm, and when I see these photos even I feel so comforted by her hands and by her smiling eyes. I feel lucky to have witnessed it, but how wonderful must it feel to be loved by a woman with such peaceful, loving energy!
