thiele family photos // seattle, wa
Oh you know, just blogging this family session from last October!!! The funniest thing about posting these photos is that I’ve since photographed this wonderful family for their son Gray’s first birthday!
But these photos are still so special, and I hope that seeing them again brings back all sorts of nostalgia for them. That sweet little tiny bundle of joy you see in these photos is officially one year old… a walking, talking, almost toddler! And Mason has grown so much in the last year too–using the toilet, joining a soccer team, and other big kid stuff–and continues to be the best big brother around. This family has been such an inspiration to me in the last couple of years that I’ve been photographing them, and I love having the privilege of watching them grow up together.
When Ben & Lisa first approached me to do family photos a couple of years back, her mother was terminally ill, and Lisa also happened to be pregnant with Gray at the time… but she was very aware of the importance of documenting their lives together, even when it wasn’t the “most ideal” time of their lives. I’ve always admired Lisa for her humor & grace, and for her open honesty about life. Since those first family photos, her mom has passed on, and every time I photograph their family I have the very strong sense of her love still supporting this family with the kind of love & hugs that I hear only she could… and I feel a great sense of honor in being able to help carry on the legacy of their family’s story.
Man, do I love these people! Until next time, you guys!
In the meantime, I’m growing a family of my own, and am taking small-ish family session only through the month of November… and by “small-ish” I mean that I’m doing only short sessions at a very reduced price, so email me if you’d like to schedule one before I go into mommy-zone for the next few months: hello@catherineabegg.com
