hachi’s winter // abegg adventures on film
Today marks Hachi officially turning two and a half, so it seemed appropriate to share some photos from her second birthday, and then some. My goal is always to be caught up on blogging… basically never gonna happen, but I would say that six months is a vast improvement on my normal year(s) of blog backlog. (new domain name? www.blogbacklog.com?)
We celebrated her second birthday at the Harbor House at Percival Landing with a whole bunch of friends… we have lots of birthdays leading up to hers, so she was fully prepared for what a birthday party looks like, but we were so surprised with how much she loved working the room, saying a very genuine hello to everyone who was there. It was adorable! She also did an expert job at blowing out the candles, but we had a little video mishap that led to, well, no video. And I got only one photo of her; one perfectly appropriate photo of her sneaking goodies from the snack table!
But! All was not lost, because her actual birthday was the day after Thanksgiving–later that week–and we got a second chance over a giant glazed cinnamon roll at Annie’s in Orangevale, California, surrounded by the Abegg side of her family that he loves so much.
Then within the rest of these photos are some from the drive home, most noticeably when we rambled past an alpaca petting farm and we did a sharp & quick u-turn to alpaca heavan! Also two photos from our Christmas trip to Disneyland (two?! TWO?!!!!! what kind of photographer am i, anyway!)… and then just a few photos that I took of Hachi on a day that she and I on a whim decided that she should be a model, so we took headshots. Okay, maybe I was just on that whim, but that kid loves getting her photo taken!
May is also Madeline’s birthday month… we love you Madeline, and hope you’re not mad that it’s actually Hachi who gets a blog post this month (although who am i kidding?! she doesn’t read my blog!)! And the month of May this year also marks two years of us living in this house in Olympia. I thought I’d be brave enough to blog about that… but it turns out, I’m not. Literally every moment is a learning and growing experience, yes? (please say yes.)
Okay there’s your blog backlog update for now! Thanks for hangin’… and for more updated photos of what’s really going on with us in mostly real time, be sure to check out my personal instagram! xo!
love that guy!
